I am helping one of our volunteers who was recently widowed to set a fair value and to sell a couple of shotguns her husband owned. Looking for a value for: Winchester Model 50, semi, 12 ga., 2 3/4 ', serial #133012. Serial number look up showed it was made in 1959. Any help appriciated.
Book says $500 in 98% condition, $400 in 90%, $350 in 80% etc. add $50 if it has a ventilated rib add 50% for trap and skeet model If it had 'pigeon' stamped on the receiver near the serial no. it would be worth a lot more. Condition is very important. If the gun is in very good shape it will likely bring a better price. Also prices will vary depending on what part of the country you are in.

Thanks for the prompt reply. We are located in central Arizona and the shotgun is in good condition. I don't think he shot often. Hope to help her find a buyer, She is uncomfortable with guns in the home.

Hello Archer: I might add, the more open the choke the more valueable it is. Meaning WS-1 (skeet choke), Imp/Cyl, Modified, and finally Full Choke guns. It could have a plain barrel, (no vent rib) WS-1 barrel on it but that doesn't make it a Skeet gun. Skeet/Trap/and Pigeon guns had a pitol grip cap, and a 3 diamond checkering panel on the bottom of the forearm in addition to the side panels. If the gun has no capped pistol grip, and only side checkering panels on the forearm it's a standard field grade. Would need all the detail you could privide to determine the value. Standard field grades plain barrels, full or Modified chokes, 90% condition or better seem to be selling for around $275-$350 at the listing and auction sites here on the web. Regards Dave

There is a 95%+ field gun for sale here in town for $250. It has the original box and papers and a soft Winchester case. Been for sale for many months.

If that soft winchester case is the same vintage as the gun it alone will bring $200 or better.....
